Goteborg Tour summer 2025Report from Isaac Hunter

Göteborg is a tour where far more responsibility is push onto the juniors to make their own tour. Despite the main focus being orienteering training, one of the best take aways was how to structure and plan your own training. I planned some regular training on the first the first day to allow us to get into the new terrain. Putting out controls was an amazing way to get into the terrain and planning allowed me to think really deeply about the area we were using. For the rest of the week, we did many fun exercises planned by everyone on the tour including mass start trains, long legs, clock relays and vampire o. All of this, alongside more, allowed everyone to enjoy the orienteering while getting great training. We also had to cook our own meals, learning to cook for 25 people is always a good skill. At the end of the week, we participated in a three day district event. Great experience of the Swedish forest with some good results, mainly on the sprint. The whole week there was a amazing feeling of collaboration and everyone was working together towards a great time. Overall, it was one of the best jros tours I have been on, lots of good learning and incredible fun with friends.
