Minutes of NWOA Extraordinary General Meeting

The meeting was chaired by Bob Roach. Minutes were taken by Sue Birkinshaw

1. Apologies for absence
   Steve Fellbaum, Angela Whitworth, Sue Roome, Sue Butterfield, Matt Cochrane
2. The business of the meeting
   The business of the meeting was to fix Club subscriptions to NWOA for the year 2010-11.
   
   9 Clubs were represented so the meeting was quorate.
   As a point of order, Roger Jackson required confirmation that due notice had been given to the Clubs of both the Treasurer's recommendation and the amendments received. It was agreed that the requirements of the constitution had been met.
   The Chairman asked whether a consensus could be reached, but it was agreed that, as club reps had been mandated by their clubs, formal voting would be required. It was agreed that voting should be by a show of hands.
   The Treasurer recommended that membership subscriptions should be set at a level which would cover ongoing costs, so that windfall profits from the major events could be used for development activity.
   Motion proposed by BARRO and seconded by DEE
   WCOC proposed an amendment that Club subscriptions be set at nil for the next four years, requiring the cost of ongoing activities to be met from profits of major events. Seconded by SROC
   LOC proposed an amendment to the WCOC amendment that no Club subscriptions be paid this year and progress on development projects be reviewed before deciding on future years at the October 2011 AGM. Seconded by BL.
   Voting took place as follows:
   On the LOC amendment, For 4, Against 5, Abstentions 0. The amendment failed and the WCOC amendment therefore stood.
   On the WCOC amendment, For 3, Against 6, Abstentions 0. The amendment failed and the original proposal therefore stood.
   On the original proposal, For 6, Against 3, Abstentions 0.
   The original proposal was therefore deemed to have been accepted by the Meeting.
